General Summary of Position

Job Summary

The Director of CapacityManagement leads the day-to-day bed capacity activities of magnet-certified MedStarHarbor Hospital by assessing and directing the flow of patients from all accessavenues through admission, discharge, and transfer; anticipates and reportsadmission trends to Hospital Administration, overseeing patient placementassignments and serving as the clinical liaison to Nursing Units, CaseManagement, physician leaders, other providers and all clinical departments.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in nursing or health-related field from an accredited school required; BSN from an accredited School of Nursing required.
• 5-7 years of progressively more responsible job-related hospitalmanagement experience exhibiting strong clinical and customer service skillsand the ability to manage/coordinate effectively the work of subordinatesrequired
• Minimum of two years of nursingleadership experience preferred with 4 years of nursingleadership experience strongly preferred
• Bed utilization, emergencydepartment, resource capacity throughput experience strongly preferred
• Active MD RN License or Active Compact State RN and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required.
