Adjunct Clinical Nurse Instructor

This position is part-time and will require flexibility in scheduling to accommodate clinical site availability. The Adjunct Clinical Nurse Instructor will report to the Nursing Chairperson or designated nursing faculty member.

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide clinical instruction and supervision to undergraduate nursing students in a healthcare setting

Facilitate learning experiences that promote critical thinking, clinical reasoning, and evidence based practice

Collaborate with nursing program faculty and clinical coordinator to develop and implement clinical learning objectives and evaluations

Guide students in the application of theoretical knowledge to clinical practice, ensuring the integration of nursing concepts and skills

Evaluate student performance in clinical settings, provide constructive feedback, and assess clinical competencies

Maintain open communication with clinical site staff, preceptors, clinical coordinator, and nursing program faculty to coordinate student placements and ensure a positive learning experience

Participate in faculty meetings and program evaluation activities as required

Engage in professional development activities to enhance teaching effectiveness and stay current with trends in nursing education and practice

Required Qualifications

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution

Current, active Missouri RN license or eligibility for Missouri licensure

Recent clinical experience in nursing practice, preferably in the area relevant to the clinical instruction assignment

Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment

Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues, students, and clinical partners

Prior teaching or precepting experience a plus, but not required

Commitment to professional growth and development, including completion of clinical faculty training offered in Fall 2024
