School Nurse

POSITION: School Nurse

REPORTS TO: Principal, Eastland Career Center

STARTING DATE: August 1, 2025

QUALIFICATIONS: Successful applicants must hold a bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited university; Valid Ohio Board of Nursing License (RN); Minimum 3 years' experience in education or clinical health settings; Certification in CPR; Knowledge of nursing standards related to the school setting; Successfully pass a BCI/FBI background check.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide clinical nursing care services; Secure and administer student medications; Maintain and review student health care records, including immunization compliance; Provide health care education to staff and students; Provide care provision or coordination, including care for chronic diseases like diabetes, asthma, epilepsy and allergies; Contribute to Individual Assessment Team (IAT), 504 plan and individualized education program (IEP) processes; Participate in health prevention activities, such as immunization, obesity prevention, substance abuse assessment, tobacco control, asthma education, and promoting health and safety; Provide training to staff on appropriate health and safety procedures including emergency preparedness; Collaborate with public health partners for screenings, referrals, follow up and communicable disease surveillance; Follow all nursing laws, Ohio Revised Code, Ohio Administrative Code, and all school board policies.

SALARY: Placement on the certificated teacher salary schedule.

TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT: Full-time certified position; 186-day calendar; Benefit-eligible position.
