Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

Reports to: Director Nursing - Geri Psych

Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment. Drag Edit Delete Documents patient care given. Drag Edit Delete Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family. Drag Edit Delete Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation. Drag Edit Delete Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs. Drag Edit Delete Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances. Drag Edit Delete Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient. Drag Edit Delete Handle with Care participation annually or CPI participation every 2 years. Qualifications: Minimum Education
Associate Degree, Bachelor Degree or RN Diploma required. Drag Edit Delete Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Drag Edit Delete Required Skills
American Heart Association or American Red Cross Certifications:Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire or must be obtained within 90 days of employment, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required within 12 months of employment.

Six months to one year experience with psychiatric/behavioral patients
